ReAct Transnational has evolved into Justice Ensemble, a new alliance formed with three other activist organizations to counter the rise of the far right and the dismantling of ecological and social policies, supporting progressive citizen struggles. [source: react-transnational] The organization also supports the autonomous organization of residents affected by agro-industry monocultures in Africa and Asia through the pan-African network Riverains Ensemble Afrique, coordinated by a Cameroonian association. [source: react-transnational] In France, rural inhabitants poisoned by industrial agriculture have formed the federation of syndicats Riverains Ensemble to fight for their right to health and a healthy environment. ReAct Transnational continues its engagement with workers, having animated the GLI Paris since 2017 to break down barriers between union and citizen struggles and facilitate the international circulation of union practices to strengthen professional unions worldwide. [source: react-transnational] The organization supports the strengthening of workers’ unions to fight against the impunity of large corporations in the face of globalized capitalism’s excesses. [source: react-transnational] Through the Global Labour Institute, ReAct Transnational runs international union universities, training for professional unions, and publications, all aimed at strengthening union organizations and rethinking international unionism. The organization experiments with methods to support the organization of precarious workers, from McDonald’s restaurants to Castel sugar cane plantations, and including cleaning or security employees, to demand better working conditions. [source: react-transnational] ReAct Transnational also facilitates the creation of transnational union alliances organized at the company level for workers at B2S call centers, STMicroelectronics, and Deliveroo or DPD delivery riders. [source: react-transnational] In response to the ecological emergency, the organization supports the construction of eco-unions of residents affected by ecocidal agro-industries to protect their health and biodiversity. Specific struggles include landless peasants near SOCFIN BOLLORE’s industrial oil palm and rubber plantations fighting for land access, families near SOMDIAA’s sugar cane plantations battling pollution and health impacts, and residents near VERGERS DU SUD’s industrial apple orchards organizing to limit excessive pesticide use.
