UNIORE is a non-governmental entity created in Caracas, Venezuela, in November 1991, whose decisions are recommendations and guidelines for the 33 electoral bodies that integrate it. UNIORE has accompanied different organs of member states in more than 300 missions. [source: uniore] Recent activities include observation missions for general elections in Honduras, a referendum in Ecuador, and the second round of elections in Bolivia. [source: uniore] The organization also conducted an advance mission in Mexico from April 28 to May 2, 2025, and participated in a technical visit for the general elections of Ecuador on February 9, 2025. In 2024, UNIORE accompanied the Electoral Court of Uruguay in the second presidential round on November 24, and conducted an accompaniment mission for Uruguay’s national elections on October 27. [source: uniore] Other missions included the municipal elections of Brazil on October 6, 2024, and an evaluation mission for the electoral process of Panama’s elections from May 5, 2024. [source: uniore] The organization also observed internal elections of political parties in Uruguay on July 30, 2024, and presidential and congressional elections in the Dominican Republic on May 19, 2024.
